Remember you need BAC Water for all your peptides.

These are 10ml Vials. Enough to reconstitute 5 peptide vials @2ml.

Bacteriostatic Water, commonly referred to as BAC Water, is a sterile, non-pyrogenic water preparation that contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. It is designed for use as a diluent in injectable medications and is intended for multiple-dose administration. Unlike plain sterile water for injection, which contains no preservative and must typically be discarded after a single use, bacteriostatic water can be accessed multiple times from the same vial when proper sterile technique is followed.

The key component that distinguishes bacteriostatic water is benzyl alcohol. This compound acts as a bacteriostatic agent, meaning it inhibits the growth and reproduction of bacteria inside the vial after it has been punctured. It does not sterilise contaminated solutions, but it significantly reduces the risk of microbial proliferation during repeated withdrawals. This makes it particularly useful in clinical and pharmaceutical settings where medications are reconstituted and dosed incrementally.

Bacteriostatic water is most commonly used to reconstitute lyophilised (freeze-dried) medications, dilute injectable drugs to specific concentrations, or prepare solutions that require precise dosing. It serves purely as a vehicle for medication delivery and has no therapeutic effect of its own.

Once a vial has been opened or punctured, it is generally recommended that it be discarded within approximately 28 days, depending on manufacturer guidelines. Each access to the vial should be performed using sterile needles and syringes, and the rubber stopper should be disinfected prior to puncture to minimise contamination risk.

There are important safety considerations. Because it contains benzyl alcohol, bacteriostatic water is not recommended for use in neonates or premature infants due to the risk of toxicity associated with preservative exposure. Additionally, it is typically not used for intrathecal (spinal) administration because preservatives are not suitable for certain routes of injection.

In summary, bacteriostatic water is a preservative-containing sterile diluent intended for multi-dose use in medication preparation. Its role is supportive rather than therapeutic, providing a safe medium for reconstituting and diluting injectable medications when handled under proper sterile conditions.
